PRINCIPAL - MESSAGES FROM DR. MARY ALIMENTI

October 16, 2008

Dear Parent Volunteers,

I am always concerned about the safety of our students and protecting the integrity of our academic program. Therefore, I need to ask that when you are volunteering and have the ability to move about the school freely that you please adhere to following:

• Please do not walk into your child’s classroom and remove your child. Rather if you need to speak to your child, go to the office and request that he or she is brought to you. The secretary will be glad to either go to get your child, send someone to get your child, or call into the classroom to have your child come into the office.

• Please do not go through your child’s locker without permission from the office. We will be glad to assist you if you have a need to find an item. However, you may not do this on your own.

• Please do not enter the classroom while the class is in session to speak with the teacher regarding an issue. Leave a message on the teacher’s voice mail and she will return your call.

We so deeply value our volunteers and we so dearly need you. And while I know that the instances in which these things have occurred were not meant to be disruptive or intrusive, they can be. It is my responsibility to ensure that your child’s education remains uninterrupted and of the highest quality. Also, there are inherent dangers associated with unauthorized entrance into a classroom.

Again, please know how much we appreciate and value our volunteers and how much we need your continued support. I know that we can continue to work together in a positive and productive fashion thus ensuring that Notre Dame remains the best Elementary Catholic School in the area.

Respectfully,

Dr. Mary J. Alimenti
Principal

Dear Families,

Whether you are a Notre Dame veteran parent, new parent, or a prospective parent, I know that you will find this website helpful.

As a veteran parent, you will notice some cosmetic changes. It is easier to find the information that you are seeking due to the reorganization of the web page. Mr. Stanzione, a former parent and our volunteer webmaster, has departmentalized much of the information for your convenience.

As a new parent, we know that this reorganization will assist you as you familiarize yourself with our school and its daily operation. We included all pertinent information in the hopes that you can easily and quickly obtain the answers to your questions.

If you are prospective parent, then I know that you will find enough information on this website to assist you with making an informed decision in the event you are looking for a Catholic School with a strong commitment to a relevant and rigorous academic program. Not only are we devoted to the spiritual development of the Christian youth, but we are also committed to providing the finest academic education available to an elementary student in this area.

We also ensure a safe environment in which this education can take place. Students are encouraged to take academic risks without fear of reprisals. They also are safe from the pressures of harassment and bullying which are so prevalent in the public schools. We work to maintain a peaceful environment where students can develop their character, and pursue academic excellence while growing in their faith and in their relationship with God.

While the information you seek is most assuredly is located here on the website, nothing replaces the sound of a friendly voice or the warmth of a helping hand. We are always available to assist you in the event you want to contact someone at the school. Give us a call or stop by. We are to glad to help in any way we can.

Sincerely yours in Christ,

Dr. Mary J. Alimenti
Principal
