IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING COMMUNICATION ENVELOPES

Next week, communication envelopes will be going home on Wednesday, November 19th, instead of Thursday, November 20th, due to Parent Teacher Conferences.  Report cards will be sent home in this communication envelope.  If your child (Newfield campus only) does not get a communication envelope, his/her report card will be sent home in his/her ND folder.

Also, please note that there will be NO communication envelope sent home the week of November 24th.

Scrip Update

It’s almost that time again!  Before we know it Christmas will be knocking at our doors.  Please get your scrip orders in so that backorders are kept to a minimum and there are no disappointments.

As the busy ordering season nears, please keep in mind that there may be a few weeks when you may receive your orders the following week.  This is due to GLS Company having larger orders to fill and shipping times running a little slower.

Monday, December 8th at 9am is the last possible order date before Christmas.  Late orders will not be processed until January 5, 2009.  Scrip will resume after the New Year when school reopens.

Thanks for your continued support.

SPECIAL NOTICE FOR VOLUNTEERS IN THE SCHOOL BUILDINGS DURING CLASS TIMES

October 16, 2008

 Dear Parent Volunteers,

I am always concerned about the safety of our students and protecting the integrity of our academic program.  Therefore, I need to ask that when you are volunteering and have the ability to move about the school freely that you please adhere to following:

 ·        Please do not walk into your child’s classroom and remove your child. Rather if you need to speak to your child, go to the office and request that he or she is brought to you. The secretary will be glad to either go to get your child, send someone to get your child, or call into the classroom to have your child come into the office.

 ·        Please do not go through your child’s locker without permission from the office. We will be glad to assist you if you have a need to find an item. However, you may not do this on your own.

·        Please do not enter the classroom while the class is in session to speak with the teacher regarding an issue. Leave a message on the teacher’s voice mail and she will return your call.

We so deeply value our volunteers and we so dearly need you. And while I know that the instances in which these things have occurred were not meant to be disruptive or intrusive, they can be. It is my responsibility to ensure that your child’s education remains uninterrupted and of the highest quality. Also, there are inherent dangers associated with unauthorized entrance into a classroom.

Again, please know how much we appreciate and value our volunteers and how much we need your continued support. I know that we can continue to work together in a positive and productive fashion thus ensuring that Notre Dame remains the best Elementary Catholic School in the area.

Respectfully,

Dr. Mary J. Alimenti
